The China (Qinghai) International Halal Food and Products Fair saw 650 million U.S. dollars signed, up 16 percent from the previous. The four-day fair concluded on Monday in Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province. It attracted more than 3,500 businessmen and 1,126 companies from 39 countries and regions. The fair booths for international dealers increased 20 percent from last year's fair. Nearly 1,100 products were displayed at the fair,organizers said on Tuesday. A comprehensive e-commerce platform for the fair realized trade worth 11.6 million yuan (1.9 million U.S. dollars). During the fair, ambassadors and representatives from southeast, central Asia and Middle East countries held a seminar to discuss the halal industry's development. Qinghai has nearly one million Muslims, or one fifth of the province's total population. The province has more than 1,000 Muslim food and commodity companies with 300,000 employees. The product value of its halal industry hit 18 billion yuan last year.
