Member of the PLO and head of Youth and Sports Committee Ali Ishaq called on the International Federation of Football Association's (FIFA) Sepp Blatter to put pressure on Israel to stop its violations of Palestinian sport, Quds Press reported yesterday.

In an open letter sent to Blatter, Ishaq said: "The violations of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian sport and sportsmen are continuous despite deceitful pledges given by Israel to the international community during the last FIFA congress held in Zurich."

"The last violation took place when Israel prevented a number of players and administration committee of Al-Shujaiyia team to travel to the West Bank to take part in the Palestinian finals."

Ishaq called on Blatter to "immediately interfere to stop Israeli violations and force Israel to commit to its pledges."
